About us

In 2014, six colleagues founded Saginaw Power & Automation (SPA) with a vision to provide exceptional electrical and mechanical consulting engineering services. Since then, our team has continued to grow, adapting to meet the evolving needs of our customers. Our roots trace back to a major pulp mill expansion in the mid-90s, where our team successfully delivered innovative engineering solutions. Seeking new challenges, we later developed a multi-state consulting engineering group for an international automation company. After more than a decade of successful projects, we recognized that customers could be better served through an independent firm—one that offers solutions across all equipment manufacturers. At SPA, our success is built on the expertise and dedication of our workforce. Our team includes registered engineers, engineers in training, project managers, field and shop technicians, designers, drafters, and support staff, all committed to delivering high-quality engineering and automation solutions.
